Not just ran away but made a break for it. I remember in the dream having her out in the street. Then I think I put her on the ground and she was off running.

side note

Now if you’ve never seen a guinea pig run, you are missing out, get with it man! She’s so fat but has these little bitty legs that move so fast that all you see is a blur. She kind of looks like an impalla lowrider when the hydrolics are fully extended. Or like a big potato on 4 toothpicks, just really awkward.

So in this dream she heads for the sewer, so I run after her. She goes in… I’m right behind her. She goes down the hole with the ladder… I go face first down the hole. I almost catch her at the bottom, but she gets into a pipe about a foot wide. I reach for her… but she escapes into some kind of sewer netherworld. It was sad, cause I know that there’s no luring a guinea pig out of anywhere. She stays where ever she wants to, the only way is to grab her. So anyway that’s when I woke up.

Being stuck in pipes is not cool. I don’t even want to dream about it.

I shall fear no bol weevels. I am slowly killing myself with lack of sleep. I think I’m averaging about 5 hours a night this week. In bed around midnight, alarm at 6… rinse repeat. And those are the normal nights, one night it was bed at 130 and up at 430 (for some reason) After a week like that I’m a walking zombie. I look deceptivly awake, except in meetings where I have nothing to focus on. So it’s a fight to keep my head off the table. I almost fell over walking to the bathroom and I think I might have dozed off on the throne…

Who knows, I might be alseep right now. I had all these fun things to write but now nothing sounds better than going home and getting some Z’s. But I think I’ve already used that excuse this pay period… and it ends tomorrow.

I decided that it was time for a little spring cleaning. First off i got rid of the style switcher and “greatest hits” side menus. I think they were just making the page load slower and mostly useless. Like anything here has a reason anyway! I might replace them with a new blosxom plugin, but not today. I’ve been noticing that there were still some IE vs Firefox differences in the CSS. Which are a complte pain in the ass to fix. I think I’ve worked through most of the issues. There were some stray padding values in the <"a"> tags. I worked on the main content style adding a colored title bar and a better defined footer to each post. I also got rid of the big date bar that would seperate days worth of posts, Because honestly I never post more than one per day. Looks good I think!

I was trying to embed a font in the css file so that I could have a cool header to each post. But after about 2 hours of messing with it I just gave up and went with the color and bold font. I like how CSS zen garden always uses them. But I guess It’s not for today. Slowly getting there!

ok so here it goes.

Alright so we went to the Nats game on Friday. Then comes saturday. We spent pretty much the whole day just lounging around the house doing nothing. I’m sure Jesse was doing something, he always is. We’ve been planning to go see Jim Gaffigan in DC ever since we saw his Comedy Central special “Beyond the Pale”. This was going to be the same show. But just like Brian Regan w hoped that he would do some new/old stuff too. I’d been purposley not watching the special on the DVR because I wanted to forget the jokes, which is really hard… cause they’re funny dammit! After waiting in line for overproced beer the show began. And of course Gaffigan did not dissappoint! He was awesome. Good show my man. I really can’t remember one specific joke, cause I was laughing too hard the whole time.

Sunday came and it was time to relax and watch the monkeys work on Bobby’s new stereo system. I amused myself by painting a ray gun on my door. I’m still waiting on Jesse for a finished picture. Hopefully I’ll be able to post that soon.

Man this weekend was full of stuff to do. On friday we went to the Nationals Braves game in DC. I just stayed after work so I wouldn’t have to drive my tired ass all the way out to Vienna and back. We met up at Jeff’s apartment near George Washington and did a little pre game drinking. I was going to smuggle a bag o’ vodka into the stadium but I had heard that the security wasn’t exactly fort knox. So I had a few “skinny bitches”, Diet Coke and vodka. I don’t really like skinny bitches… real or beverage. So we leave for the game, at the exact game time it decides to start pouring. Forcing an hour long rain delay… but we decide to head out anyway. The delay wasn’t that bad, we were in covered seats. wo we just talked and watched some morons run around the stadium with their shirts off. The game was… well it was a baseball game… so not that exciting. But Soriano did go 4 for 5 with 3 home runs. That’s right, we’re lucky.

I don’t feel like posting the rest right now. So i’ll continue this later.

…once, you never have to go back

It’s obvious that my obsession with the limited edition candy and various consumer products has gone too far. Or perhaps the Coca-cola company is the one that has gone too far with this new product. Perhaps they’ve opened a portal to hell inside the coke warehouse and the devil is just handing them new products.
So anyway this Blak thing is basically coke with a slight coffee flavor. Before I tried it I read that it was like flat coke with orange soda mixed with a little bit of coffee. When it hit my lips I was in stunned silence, that is exactly what it tastes like. I’m usally really excited about new products, but this one is not going to make it. If you sip it it kind of tastes good, but not good enough, good try Coke. Come back when you got your “A” game.

Nothing crazy like having sex with bears or anything. So everybody just get you mind out of the gutter. I like to find and look at old computer stuff, photographs, basically anything from the 1980’s and 1970’s. What made me think about it is that my office is covered with books that nobody has touched since 1992. It could be that when I was growing up my dad had ( and still does have ) hundreds of old computer parts and brochures in the basement and office. I don’t think anybody will ever need a 200 page book on the Microsoft Mouse driver from 1991 or the pin outs from a 1mhz microprocessor circa 1982. But rest assured it’s still there somewhere. Also it’s probably that my sisters are so much older than me. Laurie is 10 years older than me, and shelly is 15 years older… good lord… that makes Shelley 40 this year! (sorry shell!) So I want to know what life was like for them when they were my age. That must be why I liked the VH1 show “I love the 70’s” so much even though my only expierence with that decade is through hand me down toys.

I looked through my del.icio.us bookmarks but couldn’t find all the specific things that I’m thinking of. But I did find another weird thing I like, abandoned places. There’s whole communities of people dedicated to going to and taking pictures of abandoned hospitals, hotels, amusment parks, anything! I think I like them so much because you can see the traces of what went on there. But it gives you the freedom to make up your own stories. There’s just so much sorrow in seeing something that someone once had so much hope for going to waste. I think also it comes from my constant daydreams that I’m Charleton Heston in The Omega ManCheck some out.

This is the grandaddy of them all. The thing that got me interested in abandoned places. Jim Bakker was a tele-evangilist in the 1980’s who made tons of money from his viewers. This is his Christian Theme park, circa 2005.

This week has been going by so slowly! I really can’t wait for the weekend to get here. Even more than normal! I thought it was my dad’s birthday for like half the day… But that’s next week. I finally struggled through the day and now I’m on the metro going home. Where there’s beer to buy and Lost to watch!

I usually don’t post very personal stuff on here, because you never know who could be reading it. But today I don’t care! I had a really good lunch/afternoon/evening with Gwen yesterday. We have so much in common. I’m really looking forward to seeing her again
wish me luck!
