This video both rocks and/or rolls. I’m always interested in what other countries think of the US, I don’t know if this was making fun of us… but I love it. The video features a dangerous level of sexy Italian women in skin tight pantsuits and the awkward ‘OK’ hand sign from what looks like “Italian Borat” is hilarious. The lyrics are NOT in English, but they sound like they are. So think of this whenever you’re inappropriately making the slit eyes and saying “Ching Ching Cong” … It reminds me of a post on ask.metafilter about what gibberish words non-english speakers use to make fun of americans.

This video, besides being awesome, explains exactly what goes on at music festivals.

Let me explain…

1.) So there’s this crazy guy going nuts, he could be actually crazy, or he could be crazy-high. Regardless he’s having a great time and totally going for it. At first everyone is unsure if he’s going to give up, or have a seizure, or flip out on everyone. but when that time frame passes everyone decides that he’s harmless.

2.) Then comes in the slightly less crazy guy. That guy you know that’s always down to back you up on any foolish thing you might get into. At a festival there are tons of these guys, these are good festival peeps. So after a few minutes there are a couple other people around him doing their goofy, “I don’t care because I’m at a festival and haven’t showered for a few days” dance.

3.) The third wave are still fun festival people, but they’re so stoned that it took them a few minutes to realize that something was going on on the other side of the hill. But when they see that it’s not a scary fight, they really want to join in. So they all get over there and start wobbling and jumping around.

4.) Then the final group of people join in. They are the “I’m wearing a sundress girl” or “college t-shirt and sandals guy” The I got invited to this festival by a friend and I thought it would be a good time. They’re down for fun, but they’re too scared to just go for it unless there are a bunch of other people doing it.

Festivals need all these types of people to be great. They’re about getting together with a bunch of other sweaty people and just letting it all out. There’s something about not caring what people think that’s very liberating.

If we just let this crazy guy dance alone, then the terrorists win.

These are some of the funniest paintings that I’ve ever seen. I think you have to listen to the podcast to get a lot of them. But it’s still funny. I wish I had a ton of artistic friends who would make awesome paintings from my ramblings.

The Smodcast is the podcast of producer Scott Mosier and Director Kevin Smith, it’s profane, filthy, and hilarious.

America

I was reading a discussion on Ask Metafilter about understanding America and I got inspired about what a great country that we live in. I also recently re-discovered Stumble Upon. You see I have this list of about 30 bookmarks that I visit on a regular basis. When those are done, I’ve officially finished the internet. I just sit there trying to think of something to Google. But stumbling allows me to randomly go through sites that are rated good by the community. There seems to be some kind of relationship to that discussion and the links that I’m finding today

Ask Meta-filter discussion about understanding America

The Wikipedia entry on the history of beer in America

A picture of the invasion fleet at Normandy

A video about the Chrysler Turbo Encabulator

Beard Team USA

I don’t know if these links explain America. I’m sure if I spent time on it I could noodle out some correlation of feedom and responsibility and recreation. But I think that it explains my interests and humor pretty well.

Later!

This may be the perfect project for the internet. At first we were all just surfing around looking for naked celebrity gif images, then modems got better and we discovered videos. Then some of us started making videos of us lip syncing to popular songs. Then someone coined this term “crowdsourcing” where you get a lot of people to do little bits of something. Now there’s this… and now we can all go home.

Wait… we’re already at home.

Maybe it’s that I’ve seen most of these movies? Maybe it’s because it seems like at any moment they might come to life in full video. We see so much full motion video on the internet now that its surprising to see moving images that are still gif animations. Certain ones are better than others, I personally like ones where not all the elements are moving at the same speed. When you look at a full page of posts you almost slip into a drug induced stupor for a second. Check it out, I’m sure you’ll enjoy a few of them.
