I knew that our Halloween decorations and costume were cool, but now it has been verified by an independent source. Laurel and I have received what amounts to “Honorable Mention” in the Make Magazine Halloween contest. I really didn’t know that I was entering a contest, I just thought I was sharing the photos. But this will go right up there with the 7th grade science fair project “Can Hamsters Predict Earthquakes?” in the Schumaker Honorable Mention Hall Of Fame.
Stuff and Things
Pumkination
Projects, Stuff and ThingsCarved us some pumpkins we did! Well I carved mine, Laurel took more of a supervisory role and outsourced the work to an Asian workforce. (She told Wade what to do). I think the results are awesome! But we did it a little early, so I don’t know if they’ll make it to Halloween night.
(I also admit that wade carved the little pumpkin too)
Later!
pregeration situation
Projects, Stuff and ThingsThis is “The Pregerator” it’s the kegerator I made for our bar. Up until last year we could only fit quarter kegs in it because of the compressor shelf at the lower back of the fridge. The smaller keg would sit on the shelf (and a box of popcorn) and the original door would close.
But that got old fast.
So I cut away most of the original door and redid the insulation with spray foam. Then I shaped the outside and used fiberglass to give it a hard outer shell. Finish with krylon textured paint and here you have it. I even reused the kenmore logo on the door.
It’s been working fine for about two years now. I think it’s the smallest full sized kegerator out there, DIY or commercial.
I should market this!
THE TABLE
Projects, Stuff and ThingsFrankenfridge
Projects, Stuff and ThingsTHUD!
The Frankenfridge lands with power upon the scene. dominating all other forms of refrigeration. We had an old fridge donated to the house and it needed a little work. I decided that since it was old, dented, and rusty it called out to be Dr FrankenMark’s Monster. It’s definitely not perfect, but it only took 17 dollars worth of spray paint and about a half a day to finish. So who could ask for more?
Now if I could only replace the rest of the parts to make it run a little more efficiently.
Later!
Cardboard wet, good times were had by all.
Projects, Stuff and ThingsWell the 4th annual gathering of creative nerds went off without a hitch. Of course I’m referring to the Cardboard Boat Race. I’ll link to the pictures as soon as Jesse posts them online. It seems to be becoming a bigger and bigger event in my family, but less popular with the actual comminity of Stafford. But we have fun doing it so that’s all that really matters.
