I want a girl who can knit

Life, Women

specifically, kint THIS! But any knitting will do. I think it shows that they’re crafty and cool in a different way. In fact I wish I could knit, but I know that my attention span wouldn’t get through one entire piece, I can barely read! Anyway, that’s about it for now. Still waiting on the Halloween pictures.

So it’s happened again.

Life, Randomness

Well two things actually, First the Halloween party… and then me being too lazy to write somethign up about it and post it here for 2 weeks. But oh well, here goes nothing.

It was a pretty good time (from what I remember of it) We had a good amount of people there, some new, some old. Some notable execptions (Billy, Wade, Will) some of them had resonable excuses while others were just jackasses.

Jesse and I started playing beerpong on the outside table when the first people arived… and never stopped. I don’t want to make too big a deal of it because after 2 weeks the novelty has worn off a bit and it’s just a drinking game. But we did win a house record 14 games in a row. Smashing the old record of 9 (held by that loser Bobby). It was really exciting, but it did cause us to miss most of the stuf that went on inside (which i’m told wasn’t that exciting anyway) But I did send Frenchie on a camera run inside the house, so we have pictures of most everything.

So here’s the link to the gallery

Weird Dreams.

Life, Randomness

I really want to write this down before I forget it.

I must have heard Jesse talking about stopping for soda and grapes in Thornburg and mixed it with the fact that I talked to Tom earlier in the day. Cause I had the weirdest dream about Tom moving out to the VA countryside and becoming a grapefarmer. Except he lived in some kind of appartment complex and was growing grapes the size of basketballs.

they were tasty though!

Treonaughting

Interests, Life

So just a quick thought on having a smartphone. My friend Corey at work is always asking me questions about the best new phone to buy. Because he wants to “get his nerd game tight” he wants a smartphone. So I’ve been advising him on the new Treos and others. But What I’ve just realized is that ‘normal’ people aren’t ready for these kind of things. It’s just like my mom’s computer, she keeps complaining how slow it is, but really it’s just that she dosen’t do all the maintenance XP needs. So it gets clogged up with snowflake screensavers, greeting card programs, and product surveys.

I’m saying this because yesterday I had to re-format my phone. I’d been getting crappy reception and performance on applications so I decided it would be best to wipe it clean and start over. ( which it totally was, everything works fine now) But there’s no way Mr Avg phone user would be able to do that (without erasing all their data anyway) I guess I shouldn’t be complaining because this just means more work for my Cingular boys. Anyway, not a sermon, just a thought.

The Ween 2006

Life, Randomness

Well not really “The Ween”, cause that’s my grandma’s weenie roast in Georgia. But tis the Vienna sausage version. It was a great time and the place wasn’t as dirty as it has been in the past. It’ll take some time to get together all the pictures and write up some stories. So just wait there for a few days.

Weekend Report. 10/13 – 10/15

Life, Randomness

So it was a pretty non-descript weekend around the sausage (Vienna Sausage = our house). We did venture out after Charlie and I got Killed at softball. I have never seen a softball hit so far in my life. 300 ft fence and the ball was 50 feet over it. Absolutley stunning. So Frenchie, Jesse and I piled in Jesse’s Accord heading to DC for scary movie night at Amanda’s place near Howard University. I wish I could tell you tales of dice games and partying in the street ( it was homecoming weekend) but nothing much was going on in the ‘hood. We got there late, apparently they had just finished watching “Sleepaway Camp” which, according to reviews, was not very good at all. But that was kind of the point of the evening. We talked and BS’ed for a while before decideing to watch the original Halloween. It was fun pointing out all the flaws in slasher movie logic and trying to figure out if Jamie Lee Curtis really was a hermaphrodite.

After the movie the remaining crew played taboo and ate cookies until late in the night. I discovered that I am rather bad at Taboo, but I can eat the hell out of some cookies.

So on to Saturday, Jesse and I had been working on our respective projects all morning so we decide to stay in for the night (like we really needed an excuse) The mysterious Josh made a rare apperence that night too. By 10 we had the whole crew assembled and we did what we always do. Played the Pong. This was a rare night, for I, perennial loser… went undefeated the whole night. AND the stars must have been aligned, cause IT happened. It may not seem like much but in the first game, overtime, I had the ball land on the triangle intersection of three cups. It’s like a triple play in Baseball. Except harder. More like a no-hitter. I still haven’t wittnessed a Perfect Game ( 2 same cup rounds in a row ) but I’ve only seen this happen one other time.

Relax, it was only amazing

And you know the rest of the night was good after that! So good in fact that I didn’t get out of bed until the 3rd quarter of the Redskins game the next day.

Looking ahead at the stuff we have to get done before the Halloween party I think I really have to get working on some stuff. Not to mention that we’re going down to see Brian Regan in Roanoke the day before the party!

It’s gonna be sweet!
