I really wish that I had a better camera for this one. I have seen this guy before but have never taken a picture of him. He’s the real life version of [W:Waluigi] from the Nintendo games. He’s got the most impressive facial hair on the Orange Line, by a wide margin. I’m sure he just works for a government agency or something but I would love to see him playing tennis in purple overalls.
Art-o-Matic registration this Friday
Art, Life, Projects, RandomnessI’ve sort of been the event coordinator for a group of my friends for this years show. I think I have 3 people (maybe 4) that want to show at the 2009 show. I think Artomatic is one of the best things to happen in the DC area all year. I’m sure that some professional artists look down on the event as a dilution of the Art scene in DC by inviting all of the outsiders in. But I think it just gets people excited about Art! I think it’s the perfect place for people like myself, who have training in the Arts but choose to work in other fields. It’s also great for our friends, most of who are not fruit loving art-hipsters.
Registration is this Friday at Noon. and the show starts in about 45 days.
… I need to get working on the actual art!
I know I crapped on Death Cab, but this video is sweet.
Entertainment, music, The InterwebIt’s probably because I love animation and with Artomatic right around the corner I’ve been getting in a more artistic mood. This video really just captures a spirit and has a strong style. That’s what I’ve come to realize in my own work. It’s not about mechanical talent, it’s about the style!

The perfect storm of uncomfortable clothes
Life, RandomnessEverybody has that one pair of socks that always fall down or that undershirt that has shrunk from ten thousand washes. Well today, because I’m way behind on my sock/underwear laundry. I’m wearing the bottom of the drawers. Uncomfortable boxers, undershirt, socks, and somehow I think my jeans have shrunk too. Lengthwise (not the waist, wiseass)
It’s going to be a long day.
Into the Wild Digital Yonder. part 2.
Projects, Stuff and ThingsI cant shake it. That need to buy new DVDs and products from movies. Even as I’m packing up the first shipment of DVDs to send off the that great disc buyer in the sky (buybackmadness.com) I still want new ones! I read an article about Matt Groening and the new Futurama movie coming out soon and I thought “Wouldn’t it be great to have all those movies sitting along with the series DVDs” That was my first thought, not “I hope this one is good” or “I can’t wait to see it” but “I want to have the whole set”
Is there some kind of pill that I can take that will make me slightly less OCD about this kind of thing. I still need to be a little bit obsessed in order to get all my projects done… but I just don’t want to keep collecting junk so that I can have the full set.
I’m not going to buy that dvd, mostly because I haven’t bought the others. But really because I have a plan for a cheaper, better, all-digital lifestyle.

BRAWNDO IS REAL!
Entertainment, Movies, The InterwebIT’S LIKE DRIVING AN ICE CREAM TRUCK FULL OF BEES!
genius.
I’ll defend Idiocracy until the end of time, it’s so difficult to make a good satire and I think on repeat viewings the movie gets better and better. It’s weird that the movie came out (what seems like) 2 years ago and now the tie in products are hitting the internet. Could be a shrewd marketing move though. Also the only thing better than actually making funny products from movies is hiring guys from internet memes to write the commercials. The Powerthirst videos were the most awesome use of the internet evar.
