The why of the Laurel

Life, Women

This is the synopsis of my day and by proxy the whole Laurel experience.

We walked to get coffee at Jammin Java, decided to see a revival screening of Labrynith this week, then spent the rest of the day watching episodes of “Weeds” and drinking old champagne that I picked up out of the trash on the side of the road.

This is why I have so much fun with Laurel, she has fun doing the things that I would be doing anyway. I don’t have to try, it just comes naturally!

who throws away wine anyway?

weekend update – sometime in July

Life, Randomness

I’ve been really busy the past week or so. I haven’t had time to write anything on here. Here’s what went on.

  1. Went to Vegas for Ben and Peter’s joint Bachelors party.
  2. Started working on the Cardboard Boat for this year.
  3. Working on two side Art projects for Will and Ellen.
  4. Gave up on Amar’s project because he’s too demanding/ can’t describe what he really wants
  5. Had a kick ass joint birthday party with Frenchie at the house!

Hopefully I’ll have time to elaborate on some of these.

Later!

Update Albo still a douche. Rust also douche.

Washington Post Article

A quote from Albo

“My job as a delegate is to make people slow down and build some roads,” Albo said. “This bill does both.”

No dumbass, you can’t do both. The intake of money comes from the fact that people aren’t slowing down and thus have to pay your insane fine.

Also.

In Virginia, the fee can be paid over three years. After the first third is paid at the courthouse, the other two are to be billed by the state Department of Motor Vehicles. DMV officials have not determined how that will work, a spokeswoman said.

So this law goes into effect in 7 days and you haven’t even worked out the payment details? Stinks like you snuck this into a larger bill because there’s no way this would pass on its own. OH WHAT’S THAT? You tried to pass this bill before and it didn’t work. I love politics!

OH WAIT, I fucking hate politics.

Still pissed off…

Thoughts on Delegate David B. Albo

Life, Randomness

Fuck David B. Albo , Fuck Him right in the Ass!

Delegate David B. Albo introduces us to the $3000 speeding ticket

WTF! He slipped this new law that increases all the fines for traffic offenses in Virginia 10 fold. Did he think that we wouldn’t notice when the $75 failure to signal ticket now comes with an extra $750 fine. Oh but it’s payable in installments for 2 years, ohhh thanks a lot ASSHOLE! I understand that you need money for transpaoration projects around virginia, we do have the 2nd worst traffic in the entire country, but do you need 10 times the money???

What else is also convienent is that Albo is, what’s that… A TRAFFIC ATTORNEY. Why wouldn’t I hire an attorney at say $600 to fight my ticket which will cost me at least $1000. There was no reason to hire one before when the ticket was only $75 or $250 or anything else under the cost of a lawyer unless you faced the prospect of losing your liscense. Good job Albo, somehow in the name of helping Virginia you’ve created major business for all your lawyer buddies.

Another thing I noticed while reading through the list of offenses is that there is no fine for the first offense of refusing to take a breathalizer or Blood test. I’m not sure what the fine for that is anyway, but it has to be less than 3 easy payments of $750 for failing a Breathalizer.

If I get one speeding ticket under this law it’s an additional $1050 fine. That’s like 3 months of car payments with insurance. I might as well sell my car because I can not afford this. Maybe I’ll move to Maryland… because this fine only affects Virginia drivers.

So in conclusion, Fuck him and his crazy law.

So pissed off!
