Weekend jam packed to the maxxxxxxx

Life, Randomness

This weekend was jam packed. I think I did more in two days than I did all last weekend. On Friday softabll season began again with a crushing loss to the “Nova Electrical Workers Union” aka. “The ‘Roiding Bashers”. Saturday Laurel and I decided to play tennis in the extreme heat, idea=good, heatstroke=bad. Nobody died so I was able to watch Virginia Tech get smashed into little pieces by a dominant LSU team. The next day I drove out to Ashburn to watch the Redskins game at Darryl and Nadine’s house. It was a pretty good game (Skins win!) Just when you think I can’t pack anything more into this weekend… We see Lynard Skynard play in Leesburg. Busy weekend, but all I can say is…

FREEEEEEBBBBIRRRRRDDDD!!!!

Later!

I think we should get every Monday off!

Life, Randomness

I feel so much better after a long weekend. It’s like I finally have time to relax when I get that extra day. I did a lot this weekend, Dinner at Beth and Joe’s on Friday. Took a walk with Laurel and her dog on Saturday and then hung out in Vienna. Dinner with Laurel’s friend Cindy out in Winchester on Sunday. Went to a classic car show on Monday in Clifton then had dinner at Kelli’s house. So I really did a lot this weekend and I still feel rested and ready to go today. Next weekend is the start of NFL season so it’s a good thing I got all this action in now!

Drug war hits the Mall

Life, Randomness

Here’s a story that I found today and it’s happening a few blocks from where I work.

Stoners light up the Congressional Softball League

Apparently the team from Students for Sensible Drug Policy and the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws is in first place in the league. What makes it great for me is that the team from the Office of National Drug Control Policy refuses to play them.

A comment from their captain on the blog says this:

I e-mailed our press release to Tom Riley, the official ONDCP spokesman, with a personal note:

“Any chance the ONDCP is willing to reconsider playing the One Hitters in a friendly softball game? If you’re scared of losing to a bunch of drug policy reformers, those fears are probably justified, but we promise to be gentle…”

His response:

“unsubscribe”

For me this is a perfect example of our nations failed “war on drugs” policy and the ineptness of DC politicians. They wont talk to you about it they’re to stupid to understand email.

and on a related note.

Get this through your head America, DON’T USE CORN FOR BIOFUEL

weekend update – sometime in July

Life, Randomness

I’ve been really busy the past week or so. I haven’t had time to write anything on here. Here’s what went on.

  1. Went to Vegas for Ben and Peter’s joint Bachelors party.
  2. Started working on the Cardboard Boat for this year.
  3. Working on two side Art projects for Will and Ellen.
  4. Gave up on Amar’s project because he’s too demanding/ can’t describe what he really wants
  5. Had a kick ass joint birthday party with Frenchie at the house!

Hopefully I’ll have time to elaborate on some of these.

Thoughts on Delegate David B. Albo

Life, Randomness

Fuck David B. Albo , Fuck Him right in the Ass!

Delegate David B. Albo introduces us to the $3000 speeding ticket

WTF! He slipped this new law that increases all the fines for traffic offenses in Virginia 10 fold. Did he think that we wouldn’t notice when the $75 failure to signal ticket now comes with an extra $750 fine. Oh but it’s payable in installments for 2 years, ohhh thanks a lot ASSHOLE! I understand that you need money for transpaoration projects around virginia, we do have the 2nd worst traffic in the entire country, but do you need 10 times the money???

What else is also convienent is that Albo is, what’s that… A TRAFFIC ATTORNEY. Why wouldn’t I hire an attorney at say $600 to fight my ticket which will cost me at least $1000. There was no reason to hire one before when the ticket was only $75 or $250 or anything else under the cost of a lawyer unless you faced the prospect of losing your liscense. Good job Albo, somehow in the name of helping Virginia you’ve created major business for all your lawyer buddies.

Another thing I noticed while reading through the list of offenses is that there is no fine for the first offense of refusing to take a breathalizer or Blood test. I’m not sure what the fine for that is anyway, but it has to be less than 3 easy payments of $750 for failing a Breathalizer.

If I get one speeding ticket under this law it’s an additional $1050 fine. That’s like 3 months of car payments with insurance. I might as well sell my car because I can not afford this. Maybe I’ll move to Maryland… because this fine only affects Virginia drivers.

So in conclusion, Fuck him and his crazy law.

So pissed off!

It's not the Beer… well not just the beer anyway.

Life, Randomness

For about the last year I’ve had NFL quarterback stats. Specifically Ben Roethlisberger 6’5″ 235lbs. We’re like exactly the same… well he may be in a little bit better shape… well, a lot better… whatever.

I stepped on the scale at Laurel’s brother’s house in WVA and the gravity must be heaver out there because it said that I was approaching 250. So when I got back home I used my scale and confirmed it. I weight 246lbs.

I AM AN EIGHTH TON MAN UNIT.

The thing is I don’t have a beer belly, I’m gaining mass in all places at once. It’s like my entire front side is extending outward. It dosen’t feel very healthy.  Of course my mother will blame it on me drinking too much beer, which probably dosen’t help. But I think I’ve found another culprit, Starbucks scones. I guess I should have figured this out before, but the blueberry scone has 300 calories and 20 grams of fat… and I eat one 5 days a week.

So the new plan is….

  1. Cut down on weekly beer intake.
  2. Eat oatmeal or bagel for breakfast.
  3. Play basketball with Q, Travis, and Nigel twice a week.
  4. Don’t be fat.

I’ll keep you updated, Internet.
